As many of you know, I’m a columnist with Choose NOW Ministries. I contribute two articles a month. One for teens and one for parents of teens. Having raised two teenagers, I know what it’s like to deal with the ups and downs of parenting these sometimes alien-like creatures. I wish I had known earlier on in my parenting about Choose NOW. It’s doing great things and helping families all over the world deal with the tough issues that they face these days. I wouldn’t boast about the Choose NOW team if it weren’t true!
Here’s the great news: You have the opportunity to become a partner with this ministry!
But first, let’s talk a little about teenagers!
Today’s teens are walking away–running!–from their parent’s “religion” in record numbers. Even the most well-intentioned Christian parents are losing connection with their teens and are unable to keep them rooted in faith, making good choices. It’s scarier than ever to raise teenagers and pre-teens!
In fact, in 2011, the Barna Group published research that showed “three out of every five young Christians (59%) disconnect either permanently or for an extended period of time from church life after age 15.”
Mom and Dad of faith, doesn’t that send a tremor of fear up your spine?
Well, it doesn’t have to.
