Review of Gail Gaymer Martin’s new book/Brenda Minton’s new book

Love Inspired’s Christmas Gifts is a very charming book! It consists of two mini-books, one by Gail Gaymer Martin and one by Brenda Minton.

I loved both of these books! They truly warmed my heart. The characters and description that both of these authors have created makes you long for more and makes you want to keep turning the pages even after the last page is read.

Gail’s book, Small Town Christmas, places you into the life of an Elementary School teacher, Amy Carroll, who has moved home from the big city to live with her grandmother because she can’t find a teaching job. She is immediately faced with a challenge – seven-year-old twins who are a bit unruly and give their widowed father fits. But, of course, there are reasons for their mischievous and rebellious ways and like the layers of an onion, which must be peeled away to get to the good stuff, Amy must peel away the hardened layers of these girls to get to the root of their problems. Lives are changed in this book! Gail has done it again!

Her Christmas Cowboy was the first book of Brenda Minton’s that I have ever read. And I loved it! Her attention to detail and expression of emotion was beautiful. My second novel, coming out in May with OakTara, Song of the Meadowlark, is about a cowboy and a new girl in town, so I was instantly hooked from the first page! The two main characters, Elizabeth Harden and Travis Cooper, could not be more opposite but as the story unfolds, you see that their hearts are very much the same and they have more in common than they even know. A great read!

Here is the description from the back of the book:

Small Town Christmas by Gail Gaymer Martin – When seven-year-old twins act up in temporary teacher Amy Carroll’s class, she meets their very apologetic widowed father, Mike Russet. The handsome man has his hands full-but can two mini matchmakers and holiday cheer open his heart to Christmas romance?

Her Christmas Cowboy by Brenda Minton – After being jilted a week before her wedding, Elizabeth Harden attends a bull-riding event for her dad, where she tries-unsuccessfully-to avoid bull fighter Travis Cooper, a too-handsome heartbreaker. But could her first impression of Travis be mistaken? A Christmas wedding just might be in her future, after all..
